Spring Forward

After this weekend, I'm officially ready for Spring.  Maybe not full blown Summer, but definitely Spring.  I want light layers, wedges, and trouser jeans for days.  Those are the things creeping onto my wanted list.  I have a couple pairs of trouser jeans and every time I wear them, I kick myself for not doing it more often.  I guess it's because I prefer to wear them with wedges [closed and sandal varieties] instead of heels and most of those styles are more Spring than Winter in my closet.

Well, here they come because all I want to pair them with are light, flowy layers and cardigans/jackets.  Perfect combination and it pulls the look together.  Another trend I've been dying to try, but seem to be too lazy to put it together when I'm getting ready in the morning?  Monochromatic looks.  This bright red just looks awesome.  And you all know I can't get enough of green...especially this bright, minty one from J. Crew.  Well, that's set.  Now I just need the warmer weather to stick around!

Love is in the Air?

I'm not one of those people that can't get enough of Valentine's Day.  I'm also not bitter about it.  I have a boyfriend, I just don't really care if presents are exchanged [although, I will never turn away a present] or an extravagant dinner is planned.  I like to avoid crowds due to my extreme impatience at an type of inefficiency or prolonged wait.  Which makes me think that the people who do love to celebrate Valentine's Day are probably just as happy that I am not around them.  Win, win.

With that being said, I do love pinks and reds and the incorporation of hearts in almost every line lately.  There are many ways to dress for this lovely day, whether it be subtlety with small pops of pink or red, or very literal with hearts all over your outfit.  Either way is great and you should definitely have fun.  What I like to stress is that this day shouldn't be celebrated by only couples [don't get me started on relationship views of some crazy people out there].  I've loved myself for 2.7 decades and have celebrated with single friends over the years with beer and burgers and I still can't get enough of myself.  And to that, everyone should celebrate...especially while wearing cute clothing.  I personally think I might venture out and wear my J.Crew Heart throb shirt.  Here are some outfit ideas to prep you for this coming Thursday.

Holiday Time

It's here people.  Holiday parties are in full effect.  I personally love this time of the year, searching endlessly for what I will wear to all of the parties I will attend and a special outfit for Christmas eve service.  I always have a dressier outfit for service and a festive outfit for Christmas day.

This time of the year is a never ending excuse to wear dressy details like bows, sequins, and lace.  I personally love all three, so I'm in heaven.  I already have a few outfits picked out for my various events, but still haven't decided exactly what I'll be wearing to our office's holiday party this Friday.  Don't worry, I have enough choices for everyone attending, I just haven't figured out what will work best since half of us dress up and some select people [my boss] wear jeans, cowboy boots, and a Christmas themed Tommy Bahama shirt.  Pure Christmas class people.

green with envy:jade

Jade is by far one of my favorite shades of green.  It brings out my eyes and compliments all of my features [err...vain moment], but it's not just me-this shade does that for everyone [comeback from vain moment].

Jade is huge for Fall, so be ready to see this color everywhere.  It pairs perfectly with navy, taupe, gray, eggplant, and a lighter teal, but looks amazing with metallics as well.
