TOP SHOP DISCOUNT

students get 20% off until June 4th at Top Shop....maybe I can still swing this deal even though as of May 14th I am no longer a student [bitter sweet, but I will forever try and get by at J.Crew with that extra discount]

organization station

My parents were in town this weekend and between the amazing James Taylor concert and 5 too many bigger than life meals, there was a lot of organization and cleaning of my room [it was amazing to have 2 people who know what the hell to do with tools and design working for me]. My room is never "messy," but it has become a bit chaotic as I slowly lose any extra inch of space to storing random clothing, shoes, etc. SO my parents graciously bought me an additional dresser and helped me organize my room [life]! I haven't finished every inch of it because it was extremely exhausting and I may or may not have ran into my closet door and given myself a migraine in the spirit of organization/cleanliness, so I'll post more pictures once I'm done.

The new dresser and dresser area

The newly organized shit storm that resides underneath my sink

[I realize this may still look as if nothing has been done, but believe me

everything has a spot now instead of being thrown to the back...as if there was any

doubt, please take note of the proof of my womanhood to the
bottom left corner and if you are bothered by this then please disregard]

My newly organized jeans and pants

The ingenious way in which my mother thought to hang and organize my belts on the closet wall

The middle step of organizing the hot mess that used to reside on my

closet floor until I find nooks and crannies to stick them in
[inevitably there will be some that continue to reside on the closet floor,
but I plan on making the majority of them fit in cleared out spaces]

Etsy Feature Friday [stick with this one I somewhat redeem myself]

I thought it would be appropriate [some of you may disagree, getting sick and tired of my talk of Australia since returning] to have the EFF highlight an absolutely adorable necklace I discovered a few months back.

[INSERT rant about Etsy]

BUT, much to my dismay, Etsy likes to delete your "favorites" items once they've sold. REALLY Etsy? Why must you delete them and make it impossible to find them again. Don't you think there's a reason why I saved the item?!?! And isn't Etsy a marketplace for small time [mostly] designers to sell to the global consumer, so therefore wouldn't it be very possibly for me to contact said seller and ask if they will make/sell any more of said item I am longing for and have listed under my favorites, but maybe didn't realize it would be so popular and sell and that the inventory consisted of ONE item. GRRR. This isn't the first time Etsy has betrayed me. The pent-up anger initially started when they deleted my ALL TIME FAVORITE photo of a girl covered by her umbrella. This is the photo that I loved to look at [I know I sound seriously sheltered] and dreamed of owning, but, no worries Etsy...I really loved when you stripped me of my dreams and desires. [ok this has gone on for too long now]

So, I hope you're still reading because I just checked my favorites again and found the shop for the necklace [this happens sometimes with me, but people accept it and it's why I still have a couple friends], but the Australia one is missing [I've messaged her about making me one]. There are, however, multiple states and countries available and I think it's still a cute idea! The shop name is truche and the designer, Stevie, is based in Chicago. Even though the Australia one is currently out of stock, here are others that are close to me [maybe not you, but there's always a chance and other options].

Payless

As I was filtering through the numerous blogs I follow, I stumbled upon Lela Rose for Payless shoes. I knew Payless had a couple designer collaborations, but never really bothered to look. I admit that I haven't ventured into a Payless shoe store in ages, seriously at least a decade, but I wanted to check out the offerings once I saw the cute wedges that Kendi had on in her outfits. While the prices aren't comparable to the other inventory at Payless, the quality and design of these are well worth it. Surprisingly [to me] the Lela Rose line also offers bags that I think are absolutely adorable. This line is my favorite, but make sure you check them all out [especially for this weekend and other summer events]!

Reader Request

Wooden Wedges: sexy, classic vibe that screams summer. These are staples in any wardrobe to be paired with shorts, skirts, dresses, pants, hot pants, and my favorite skinny ankle/cropped pants. Wedges in general make my heart go pitter-patter [if for nothing else, comfort], but the wooden wedges class up the casualness often times associated with wedges. A reader requested I find some great wooden wedges and voila-here they are. The prices range from $30 to $175ish, but they're all great finds and most of them come in additional colors, so be sure to click the links to see all that are available.

shoes from oz

On another note...I thought I would show y'all the two pairs of shoes I bought while in Australia from Hype DC. I always loved their shoes while abroad so I was happy to get two more pairs to add to my already ridiculous assortment. Some may say "Two pairs? That's it?" but I would like to let you all know I wear a size 10, so two pairs takes up a significant amount of space. If I could change this I might, merely for packing reasons, but for now two is all my bag [and dignity] can afford.

Half-Yearly Sale

As a devoted Nordstrom shopper [instilled early on by my dear mother growing up in Seattle] I get really excited for their 2 sales a year. I know...2 sales isn't much, but the inventory and prices make up for it! Today starts the women and kids half-early sale, so check it out. I'm currently scanning and may or may not have items in my cart already.

great news [atlanta]

Henri Bendel is opening a store at Lenox Square Mall! The store should be open by fall and I can't wait to see the inventory. Their accessories are legendary and swoon worthy [check, check].

Calypso Sale

Calypso St. Barth is offering an additional 40% off of sale items with the code MEMORIALDAY. Run rampant through the online shop and get yourself some goodies. This is what I got and CAN NOT WAIT to wear this summer...especially in Miami in 3 weeks!
