turquoise love affair

I. AM. IN. LOVE. with Lara Spencer's ensemble last night at the Oscars. I didn't see it until today, but she is by far my favorite-and she's not even one of the leading ladies. I love turquoise with other jewel tones [hers may be a little more robin's egg blue, but you say tomato I say I want it]. It just works, and always looks brilliant. Don't fight it.

Reminds me of another example from a few years back-still amazing as ever.

Another beautiful example against a neutral palette.

Style Icons

After watching the red carpets this season and these ladies out about town, I've confirmed their spots in my personal style icons book located in my heart and mind. They all, in some form or another, register on my girl crush scale, but most importantly I am in love with their wardrobe choices. They never seem to suffer from fashion don'ts, and for that, I shall remain loyal and continue to covet every piece of clothing and accessory that falls on their bodies.

Reese Witherspoon: the epitome of classic preppy-dom. She knocks it out of the park with adorable, casual pieces that I could live in.

Rachel Bilson: she mixes pieces like no one else. Her love for structure, edgy, and femine is untouchable...and this outfit below makes me want to scoop her up and make her my groupie, or rather I would be hers.

Lauren Conrad: you all know my love for her runs deep, so here's just one of the hundreds of outfits I adore from the casual chic california girl.

Jennifer Aniston: All-American, check. Gorgeous, check. Better than Angelina-tranny Jolie, check.

Blake Lively: whoaaaa, where did that neon pink come from, and on my girl crush....whoopsie. Just can't kick the addiction yet [especially in MKors]. But seriously, I live vicariously through BL for all things sexy.

the addiction continues...

Thank the lord it's almost spring and the new spring lines seem to be fueling my addiction to neon [plastered here, and here]. Actually I think it's safe to say my addiction to hot pink, but not just hot pink, more of a bubblegum hot pink. Yup, that's it. You'll find this color only in my closet or on my fingers and toes, no where to be found in my otherwise everyday life [room, car, barbie dream house], but I can't stop. Nothing will cure me....until fall comes and I look like an bold, hot pink idiot amongst the darker colors and college football crowds [none of which have pink as their school colors]. Thankfully though, the south gives me a stronger foundation in it's longer, blurred seasons and I can get away with wearing it most of the year [well, year round if you count me going home to florida]. Next step, tan before wearing.

My newest addition from J.Crew:

At least if I do my typical wandering at festivals this spring/summer my group will be able to spot me even if I'm at the bottom of a 10 person dog pile [which, I'll be honest, is quite possible because these shorts will be a magnet for freaks and other types...I can feel it already].

what i would give...

to be in london town for this. cut off my arms, my hair, my head, just not my feet so i can wear one of her amazing pairs of heels.

really anna sui?

so apparently the 60's inspired designer will be selling her "cat hats" this fall [that's if anyone, i pray no one, actually buys them]. Retailing at $205 that's a lot of money for a pussy and on your head no less. hmmm paying for a prostitute seems like a better deal, unless you are buying said head pieces to deter the male species and therefore successful shopping to you people.

i, on the other hand, prefer this outrageously large bow from Eugenia Kim. it's ridiculous and amazing at the same time. people would stare, but not like the kitty above. and i would feel girly [as in 5 year old southern girl dressed by her arts and crafts loving mother girly]. single, party of one.

good ol' Target is re-releasing looks from past designer lines that have been successful [pretty much all of them] and it's happening March 13th through April 10. Thank you Target for celebrating something in the appropriate manner by putting it on display rather than the end-caps my dad thinks "complete his inventory" of random shit.

The offering will be made of the following designers, most of which I own what they produced for le target and applaud them:

Luella Bartley, Tara Jarmon, Paul & Joe, Behnaz Sarafpour, Proenza Schouler, Libertine, Alice Temperley, Erin Fetherston, Jovovich-Hawk, Rogan, Richard Chai, Jonathan Saunders, Thakoon, Tracy Feith, Rodarte, Zac Posen and drum rolllllll TUCKER (the most recent and uber amazing)

So, if you've been living under a rock for the past 5 years here is a refresher of what will be back in stores/online.
