Another trend, another hesitation on my part. Metallics have been around for awhile, but the new mirrored effect we've been seeing is not for the faint of heart. These babies make a statement and you have to be willing to sport the confidence that is needed to own this look. The nice thing? You have the choice to face the trend head on and go for a full mirrored metallic shoe, or just add a little accent of it to the cap toe. Either one is great, just depends on the look you want and how much you want to embrace a trend. Luckily none of these are over $100 and most are under $50!
I'll start this post off with honesty. I'm not completely sure I'm on board or should try this trend, but I keep seeing it and wondering if I could pull it off. Not to mention, models and celebrities, and even fellow bloggers [Blair from A-P just seems to make everything look chic], all seem to look undeniably cool with their loose-fitting camo jackets over their outfits. Whether it's a basic dress or a t-shirt and boyfriend jeans underneath, the balance of feminine and tough just looks good together. I love the idea of a black dress and feminine jewelry with simple, comfortable booties, but can't deny that boyfriend jeans and heels looks just as good. From the styling I've seen so far with the camo craze, it's much like leopard in that people are using it as a neutral. I feel like I would still need some thought behind my look, but I may just be able to make it work.
I'm not one of those people that can't get enough of Valentine's Day. I'm also not bitter about it. I have a boyfriend, I just don't really care if presents are exchanged [although, I will never turn away a present] or an extravagant dinner is planned. I like to avoid crowds due to my extreme impatience at an type of inefficiency or prolonged wait. Which makes me think that the people who do love to celebrate Valentine's Day are probably just as happy that I am not around them. Win, win.
With that being said, I do love pinks and reds and the incorporation of hearts in almost every line lately. There are many ways to dress for this lovely day, whether it be subtlety with small pops of pink or red, or very literal with hearts all over your outfit. Either way is great and you should definitely have fun. What I like to stress is that this day shouldn't be celebrated by only couples [don't get me started on relationship views of some crazy people out there]. I've loved myself for 2.7 decades and have celebrated with single friends over the years with beer and burgers and I still can't get enough of myself. And to that, everyone should celebrate...especially while wearing cute clothing. I personally think I might venture out and wear my J.Crew Heart throb shirt.
