Tillary

And I've found a new obsession, but this time it's long term [the obsession and how long the item will actually last].  I have a J. Crew handbag that I wear ALL. THE. TIME.  Luckily, it's a soft cracked metallic "gilver" [gold + silver] leather that looks the same brand new, as it does after 3 years of wear [current state].  For not being a handbag company, this bag has lasted wayyyyyy longer than I ever expected and I've received more compliments on it than any other bag I own.  I don't need a reason to buy another bag from J. Crew other than those!

The bag that started it all:

The new obsession, J. Crew's Tillary Tote:

Which reminds me of a certain Celine style I have always loved...

Closet Space

Like I promised, I will show you every inch of my finished closet.  Actually, I'll show you both.  That's right, my addiction has filled two closets.  One was meant for shoes linens and the other meant for a couple's combined clothing inventory.  I took advantage of both for myself and it's not pretty....well to me it is, but the overall effect it has on others is not.

jeans, pants, sweater dresses, flats, and boots
jackets and skirts [and some of my scarves]
 tops
 dresses and sweaters
 dresses and sweaters

After dealing with my closet, I started dreaming of what an unlimited bank account could provide me with in the closet real estate world.  I turned to Pinterest, which made my dreams grow bigger, only to be crushed by my reality.  Let's pour a little out and look at what an unfiltered imagination and unlimited bank account could provide us [that's right us...as in, if one of us gets a closet like this we're sharing it].

Did you really think I could leave Jenna Lyons' old closet and the one and only Carrie Bradshaw's out?  Never.

random thoughts on a monday

I'm obsessed with Revenge...just like everyone else I know.  SO, when I was previewing J. Crew's S/S 2012 collection I couldn't help but think that the last model was Christa B. Allen who plays Charlotte.  Maybe it was done before she filmed the show?  Maybe it's not her?  But you decide.

Monday Monday

For starters, I hope everyone had a great weekend and if you watched the Super Bowl, then I hope you had a good time doing that too.  I went to two different parties yesterday and after discussing a couple hostess things with a friend, I started thinking about when I would eventually throw fun dinner parties that eventually turn into ragers with someone swinging from a chandelier and funneling a bottle of champagne.  And then I remembered seeing these royally awesome palace dinnerware that would 100% fit into the crazy shit I'm envisioning.  Each palace breaks down into various plates, dishes, and side dishes.  Quite possibly the coolest thing, besides food and throwing said food, to entertain people with at your humble abode.

Sidenote...found myself at my local Target at 8am yesterday and had forgotten about the Jason Wu collection until I noticed a team of unfashionable [purely an assumption from the disgusting pajamas they were wearing in public] women hounding the racks under the black cat.  Long story longer, I only saw a few pieces since said women were scooping and swooping and was not in love with the items.  This could have also been because I have tried to cut myself off from shopping after seeing my finished closet [which you will see tomorrow].

EFF: something different

I am so unbelievably ready for the weekend I would have paid someone to fill in for me at work, but then I would have less money in my bank account to shop and that hurts like nothing else.  It's Super Bowl weekend and I could care less.  I just want to finish organizing my room, get settled, and relax.  Is that too much to ask?  Probably, but we'll see how it goes.

Today's EFF features a little shop called Gift Shop Brooklyn that makes some awesome hand dyed leather clutches that are unique and sure to make people swoon.  They have a great assortment, but I keep looking at the hand dyed ones.  Something about them makes me think it would be totally ok if I accidentally spilled bleach on my accessories.

Cap Toes

I'm not sure if I would label cap toe shoes, especially flats, a trend.  I'm not saying they're not insanely popular right now [as they should be], but rather that these are yet again a classic design that gets amped up in colors of the moment as opposed to being "brought back" or a "revival."  Cap toes will always be a sartorial staple to me, even though I will venture to say I may not own the ones that started it all anytime soon.  Nonetheless, I appreciate all the new and exciting variations to this ever lasting style.  I most recently purchased this version from Old Navy in a neon yellow color that apparently has since sold out.  There are enough variations for you to find something that works with your closet though.  Good luck hunting!

[I would like to take a second to say THANK YOU to my beautiful friends Lindsey from Teach Chic, Laura, and Tippi.  Because of your gracious birthday presents, I am now the proud owner of this shirt that I professed my love for yesterday, this absolutely adorable dress, and perfect top!!!]

very.com

I discovered a new [to the states] UK e-tailer called Very that's ASOS-esque and so far it seems pretty great!  If you're hesitant to order from a shop across the pond, I will say I have yet to try them out, but have been more than happy with my items and purchasing process from ASOS.  They recently launched a line with Brit TV presenter Fearne Cotton [the name: TV then stripper....stripper then TV?] and the girly-tomboy combination looks promising, although the pieces I really wanted have already sold out.  Sidenote...Kat Deeley, the host of So You Think You Can Dance, is also a big fan of the e-tailer.
