traveling fool

I'm back from Seattle and I feel completely out of whack and exhausted.  It could be from the annoying couple that sat next to me on my flight back that proceeded to quiz each other on their lives, lay on top of each other [um, you only bought two seats, that's 2, as in you didn't buy my space as well], and talk shiz about Atlanta...on a flight to ATLANTA, which means a good majority of the people around you probably live in ATLANTA.  idiots.  But let's just blame the weather and travel and my HORRIBLE luck with the people that sit next to me in planes and movies.  I have no words and tons of work, so I'll leave you with pictures from my trips [Nashville included, although there's not much].

etsy feature friday

This eff comes to y'all from Seattle [where I am for Easter].  I'll try and post some pictures while I'm here, but there are no guarantees with me and picture taking.  The eff this week is Hoops and Hooks, which sells humorous cross stitch creations.  If you like random corny humor in life and/or sprinkled throughout your house, you'll call my dad like these.  If not, there just here for a Friday giggle sesh.  luvumeanit.

Arm Candy

Spring brings bright colors and warmer weather, but the current trend I'm seeing that I can't get enough of is wearing the pops of brights on your arm.  Why not make the arm party look like arm candy?  These unexpected places for color add so much to an outfit, especially if you are restricted to a [corporate] dress code and can't get away with wearing what one of my co-workers would call a "crazy outfit" [read: anything with color].  There's nothing wrong with keeping the brights isolated on your arm and these options below are quite affordable.  With trends and/or things that don't fall under the category of everyday staples, I like to buy multiples of a cheap(ish) version.  Juniors departments/stores and cheap accessory shops are usually the best, but these gems are going to be sprouting up all over, so keep your eye out and you'll find a deal!

April Showers...

With spring, comes rain...sometimes.  But to be prepared, I've found the umbrella I am going to buy, because the thing I respect most in life is humor and the ability to laugh things off.  What's the icing on the rainy day cake?  The umbrella says "Shit, it's raining," but in French, so we look classy [or at least that's what I'm telling myself].

On another note, have y'all checked this tumblr out?  Love her.

Smathers & Branson

Today's post is for the lady and gent readers [which I think I have only one of...Mark, are you there?].  For those unfamiliar with Smathers & Branson, these college roommates started the company making the best quality needlepoint belts [and now other things as well].  This may, at face value, sound extremely weird and irrelevant to a younger generation, but I can assure you [at least in the south] these items are basically a currency, and good ones can buy a store.  Smathers & Branson's items are the staples that college kids refuse to give up, knowing they'll be classics [unlike the idea that the best beer sells for $1 and includes the words "high" and "life" in it].  I personally love a good monogram, besides those that are a foot high and reside on the back of your car, so the coasters are my favorite, but why not incorporate the others?  If nothing else, for school spirit.

j.crew jewels

Y'all know I'm a huge fan of le crew, and nothing's changed [much to the disappointment of my bank account], but this season it's not the clothing that is at the top of my list, it's the jewelry.  They are surpassing any expectation I ever had and I find myself constantly looking at their assortment of statement necklaces - wanting every. single. one.  I am particularly fond of the cactus flower necklace, but I would accept any of these beautiful items as gifts [fyi].
