Helen

Here are the pictures that are allowed on a public forum from our trip to Helen, GA for Halloween/Oktoberfest.  I made a couple of great friends that I was supposed to friend on the book, but sadly I made empty promises of remembering people's names and hence cannot boost my friend total.  It was the best time I've had in awhile, especially because Russell and I won the beer pong tournament, but neither of us remembers it and apparently my Honey Boo Boo was not that great because people were constantly congratulating me on my bachelorette party or birthday.

In honor of TWD

My latest television obsession [to add to the already embarrassingly long list] is The Walking Dead.  I'm not really into Sci-Fi situations, especially those based on comic books, but this show is amazing.  I'm totally addicted and I secretly love that it's filmed in my city.  With that being said, I've seen the cast out a good bit lately and wanted to share a great picture with you all of my friend Libby and I with Laurie Holden, aka Andrea, at a local restaurant.  Libby is the one that got me hooked on the show, so I wanted to repay her by being the annoying local that's not afraid to talk to the celebrity.  Laurie was extremely nice and more than willing to take a picture.  I also saw a good chunk of them at our local music fest Music Midtown...hanging in the VIP section saying hi to fans.  It's nice to know that they all aren't total asses.  Also saw one of the Vampire Diaries guys at this restaurant that same night, but I have no idea what his name is since I don't watch the show.  My roommate instructed me that he was one of the brothers.

FF:FrugalFriday

As soon as I finish this day of work, I'm off to the mountains with a big ol' group of friends for Halloween/Oktoberfest fun.  Besides the drunken shenanigans that are sure to ensue, I'm looking forward to being in colder weather and eating the delicious pumpkin fudge at the local candy shop [fatty alert].  We also get to celebrate the engagement of our friends Jake and Karisma...they met a couple of years ago at our tacky Christmas sweater party and haven't looked back since!  Story to tell the kids.

Today's FF is an adorable, on trend skirt I discovered at Target for only $22.99.  The polyester pleats and faux leather band mix the hard and soft and ensure it will go with everything.  Add tights, add boots, add a jacket...you're good to go!

BaubleBar F&F

BaubleBar is having their Friends & Family event right now and you'll get 25% off your purchases with code BBFAMILY until 10/28.  They have, IMO, the best jewelry for reasonable prices.  There are collaborations [Nina Garcia, Atlantic-Pacific] and unique lines [their neon line keeps selling out].  Enjoy and replenish your stock!  Here are some of my favorites:

the perfect shoe

The best thing in the shoe world of shopping is when you find one that goes with everything, can be worn to work or out, and is comfortable.  I was scanning Zara's site last week and stumbled upon just that.  Their ankle strap heel comes in a couple colors, has a low-ish heel, and looks great with everything.  Meet your new best friend.

breaks

My life has been hectic lately to say the least.  I recently moved to a new apartment and have yet to stay in Atlanta a single weekend since.  The first week in November will finally allow me to unpack things and settle in.  This past weekend I went on a long overdue trip home to Florida.  Seeing family, friends, and hanging out (eating) at all my favorite places was definitely something I needed.  This weekend I'm headed to Helen, a small German inspired town north of Atlanta, for Oktoberfest and Halloween craziness.  There are 20 of us in one house, so it should be all sorts of interesting.  I've decided my Halloween outfit will be Honey Boo Boo...mostly because I was able to throw something together for it from the things I've unpacked so far.  I'll try to take [appropriate] pictures to post on the blog.

This weekend my mom and I were able to make our trip to the nice, clean Kohl's at home since the closest one to me in Atlanta is 25 minutes away and super sketch.  As usual, I found a couple things I loved and the prices were great.  I'm mostly obsessed with two things:  my new snakeskin cap-toe flats and my highlighter yellow chiffon shirt.

GP

She is seriously killing it lately.  WANT. WANT. WANT.

Sorry I've been in and out lately, but my hectic life hasn't allowed me to gather any posts.  I promise to be better next week.

BB+AP

Blair from Atlantic-Pacific is by far one of my favorite bloggers.  Her style is impeccable and the combinations she comes up with are ridiculous.  I want her wardrobe and everything it entails.  When I saw today that she just launched a collaboration with Bauble Bar I was more than pumped and immediately checked it out.  Not only are the pieces perfect for any outfit, but they're affordable.  Welcomed.  Here are my favorites:

Frugal[?] Friday

I'm utterly exhausted.  Work has taken all my energy and the little I have left will be used tonight to cheer on the Braves at Turner Field with friends.  The Frugal Friday isn't my normal $30 and under, but rather the rare occurrence of a discount code for Tory Burch.  The brand is having their Friends & Fans event right now, giving you 25% off your purchase with code TBFRIENDS.  [as always though, this discount doesn't apply to Revas...damn you TB]  It ends October 8th, so shop away!

is this real life??

Gwen Stefani celebrated her 43rd birthday with the family.  I will thank the heavens 1,000 times over if I look remotely close to this at 43.

prints on the pants

I usually try to keep prints around my face in an effort to keep attention away from my hip and rear areas.  I don't mind printed skirts.  Skirts don't hurt this effort, but pants...pants seem to be my enemy.  There have been times where I've tried on printed pants and thought they looked okay.  It's mostly the cut that ruins a printed pant for me, but lately I've been trying to find something that would be comfortable and flatter for the Fall season.  I'm determined to find one that works and pair it with basic t-shirts and statement necklaces.

:recently:

Last night I noticed that everything I had purchased in the last week or so was hanging nicely on my dresser.  This prompted me to take pictures and show y'all all my new things.  Here it goes:

C.Wonder silk maxi dress
[this is the dress I couldn't find on their website, but if you like it call the Atlanta store and have them ship it to you...there are TONS and it's only $45 - comes in navy and white as well and has pockets and slits on the side]

Pretty seafoam-ish green top from a local boutique
[to match my new necklace below]

Dress from the same boutique - military details on the shoulders
[hard to tell, but it's navy and cream]

Target Leopard Dress
[this thing is so comfortable and flattering everyone should have it...and it looks like the J.Crew one I wanted and never got around to buying]

C-Label Hudson 10 flats
[today is the last day for 20% off with code THANKYOU at Piperlime - these reminded me of a dressed down version of the Valentinos I've wanted for a year if not longer now]

Loft statement necklace
[that I currently have on with the top above]

Think Pink

That initially sounds like a phrase from a sorority when you're going through rush, but luckily we're all past that now and we can think of it representing breast cancer awareness instead.  One of my favorites, Giuliana Rancic, designed a necklace for Loft and it is amazing.  It reminds me of a necklace version of the J.Crew pave link bracelet that I've been obsessed with for months now.  25% of the proceeds go towards breast cancer research, so you'll look fabulous and feel great.

[I had to cut off the weird zoom boxes to the left, so y'all have to suffer my advanced cropping skills]
